I had some wonderful, local dishes whilst in Crete. The Greeks love their cheese, and so do I! From snails, to lamb and not forgetting the pork, I had some fantastic meat in Crete. They do also make a whole host of vegetarian beauties too. Saganaki using Cretan cheese and Fried Zucchini were delicious! As much as I love relaxing by the pool and soaking up the sun, I can’t stop my itchy feet. Read about our introduction to Cretan farming, the fantastic scenery and the local sights we saw. We travelled out to Knossos Palace, a major touristic archaeological site, and clambered up the rocky hills on Spinalonga Island, accidentally on purpose. Montenegro means the Black Mountain and the scenery was truly stunning, especially from the rooftop terrace bar – made it worth it to pay 6€ for a beer. This was my first time to Montengro in June 2023 and we had an amazing week in the sun. I can’t wait to tell you all about it!
